does a 1992 old 98 need to have bypass module ,it will not start unless the key is on,everything else works,including trunk,door locks and auto windows function,thank you

Yes sir. The "tell" there is the "chip"
in the key.

This vehicle has the GM VATS fuel rail shut off (original)
and needs to be bypassed.

See www.GMVATS.com and select number 2 in the store.

Won't take long, but will safely circumvent the VATS system.
