Question
i have a 1999 dodge intrepid that i picked up from the second owner. it has a secureacode key fob that requires you to have it on your key ring or sometimes waved close to the ignition before the car will start. there is a red led light under the dash close to the brake peddle that has to go out before the car will start. it sometimes take numerous attempts at waving the fob before the car will start. is there a way to disarm/disable this feature. the previous owner, a friend of mine, has no info on this system.

Wish I had better news, but no, you are going to
have to extract the existing wiring and repair it.
They made these proximity keys in series and don't make
replacements for them.

Best option is to remove the system, replace or repair.

See the pic attached for procedure.

Good luck.
