Question
Is the gearbox supposed to lock up as well as the engine? This has happened twice before I can't put my car into drive I don't know if I locked the engine and gearbox .

Answer
The Prestige has nothing to do with a physically frozen
gear box, shifter or even engine locking up.

Might be the vehicle's own system thow.

Depending on the make, mode & year of the vehicle,
would let me know if it's an issue with your specific car.
