Expert: ALARMTEK - 8/13/2011

Question
i recently lost the original key and have been using the "spare" this week.  Now the spare will not start my car and the key with a circle around it and line through it is lit up. I can't afford a costly fix.  Is there a way to bypass/fix his problem myself? We
have tried unhooking the battery for awhile, putting the key in the drivers door locking and unlocking, put new battery in the key fob.  Also, the key fob will lock but not unlock the doors.  Any suggestions are much appreciated!!
