Okay I have a 2001 S10 Xtreme x-cab, I bought the truck with no fobs so I purchased two different ones that were the type that programmed to the truck one of them is the right model anyway, I took it to my chevy dealer and he tried to program them first making sure that the truck even had the keyless on it and it did when he entered programing mode the doors automatically locked an unlocked well thats when you push the buttons on the remote to program one/them. Well he tried it with both of the remotes but it did nothing like the remotes batts. were dead but they were brand new batts. I know the remotes work cause I tested them on there tester you aim your remote at and push the button and the light comes on, on the tester so that is not it. But I don't have the $50 to $100 bucks to spare to have them look into it to find the problem he told me it could even cost more than that! I worked at Audio Express and installed car alarms and keyless entries but I don't know the factory wiring for the factory ones we never touched the factory keyless or alarms we just installed ours theirs would still work if you used the factory remotes but if we put the code alarm or code keyless on then you had to use the remote for it and put your other one away. Any help please!

Get veh owners manual and make sure you have right part number. Sounds like wrong remote, wrong frequency.
