Expert: ALARMTEK - 1/16/2012

Hey guys,

First of all thank you for your time in reading this.
I'm having an issue with my factory installed remote start system where instead of it starting the car, the alarm goes off.

I also had problems with the key fob but was able to take that into batteries plus and have it re-soldered.

Every thing else works fine  with the system.

Usually to start the remote start you end up hitting the lock key twice and then the remote start, however I did notice that even if I don't hit the lock button twice it sets off the alarm.
I've read some posts of people having issues with it when it's cold but to me it happens all the time.

I've heard rumors of an easy fix for resetting it by doing a couple of button presses and would like to try that before having to take it to a dealership (money is a little tight as of the moment).

Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated,
