Question
im not sure what type of alarm system my car has but i washed the remote for it. the remote light still comes on and the sound still works but, both the lock and unlock buttons do not work. this is a problem because my car is currently locked. if i break into my car it will not start because when the alarm is set the vehicle will not function without the remote unlock. so my question is how do i bypass this? is it as simple as disengaging the battery or what can i do. thanks.

No sorry, I don't provide that info here.
Try a site that specializes in replacing remotes
and they may be able to provide programming
instructions.
