Expert: ALARMTEK - 1/26/2012

Hi. I recently purchased a 1994 chevy. truck. It has a DEI Hornet 553T alarm/Remote Start. However, It didnt work, so I put a new battery in the remote, and found that the LED wires were broken. I fixed the wires, and now the LED works, located "valet" button, but have had no luck getting the system to operate. Siren does not make any chirps, or sounds, so I direct wired that to test it, worked when I did that. The truck sat for over a year with dead battery, any ideas on this? If I start the truck and hald the valet button, the Led comes on solid, I am not sure where to go from here. Also I cannot find the toggle anywhere. Any chance there was not one installed originally?
