Question
I recently purchased a 1992 acura vigor and as I'm sure you've heard the alarm system is very difficult. One day my alarm started to go off and wouldn't stop until about 8 minutes later the battery died. My boyfriend installed a new battery and now the car won't start. Where exactly would we find the correct wire to disarm the alarm. I read on the internet that we could bend the hood latch (didn't work), and also repairing the door actuator(also didn't work). As expected the dealerships are charging quite a bit just to disconnect it so I'd like to save money and have my boyfriend do it if possible. He is knowledgable in most aspects of the automotive industry and he is puzzled about this. PLEASE HELP...Thank You for your time

Ok, car dealers take advantage of unsuspecting
patrons. It's an old story unfortunately.
But this info should solve your present dilema.

Normally, you would insert the key in
the drivers door, turn left, then right
to disarm and reset it. If yours is malfunctioning,
you can disable it for good by doing the following:

The FACTORY ALARM DISARM WIRE IS
green/black |- | Located in the
large harness to the left of fuse box.

Once Located, splice into this wire with
a simular guage wire, and put it to
a solid chassis ground. This terminates
the factory alarm functions entirely.

But,
  If this happens to be an after market system,
put the key in the ignition,
and turn forward all the way just before cranking.
Then within 5 seconds, locate, press and hold in
the valet/overide button, found under the
dash area, (push button, spring loaded)
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area goes on solid,
and the siren chirps once.

(Your valet switch might be the toggle
(on/off) type. in this case, key on,
flip switch in opposite direction,
then turn the key off.)

This should reset the alarm.

At this point, the only thing working would
be the keyless entry from the alarm,
if it came equipped that way.

Just Repeat these steps to place it
back to usable armed mode.
You may get 2 chirps, confirming it,
and the lights may flash twice as well.

That should do it.

However, at this point, this car would be exceedingly
easy to steel, so I suggest you get an aftermarket
alarm system to protect it from here on in.
