Expert: ALARMTEK - 10/2/2006

Question
i have a 97 honda accord ex i bought used well i was noticing i have a led light stuck on my dash underneath my  stering wheel and i also found a button under my dash also under the stering wheel when i press it the led flashes on or off then my horn beeps .. what does this mean i have an alarm just no remote or just some after market stuff please help me figure out why it is there? thanks o much for ur time !!!   mellia

Definately aftermarket, and definately a detterent
of some kind, but if it were my car, I would
have to say pull it, and put in a decent alarm you
understand and have remotes for so you can protect
the car. This vehicle is super easy to steal and definately
requires something with starter kill!

But in my opinion, the one installed sounds jury rigged,
and probably is only a noice generator.

Take it to the local install shop and get it pulled
out and replaced. It's the best suggestion,
rather then attempting or guessing, at what it does, or worse, getting stuck somewhere because of it.
