Car Alarms/car alarm won't shut off

Question
I have the Rattler by Viper. It was installed in 2002 on a 99 Ford Taurus. The alarm doesn't work properly and we have been planning on having it removed but can not afford to do it right now. I have lost both sets of keys to the car and was able to have new ones made but now the alarm won't shut off when the car is running. I have tried to put the ignition on and press the button under the steering wheel but I'm not having any luck. Is there any way I can disable the noise and light so that we can drive it until we can come up with the extra $$ to have it completly removed?

Answer
Sure as long as you can still drive the car,
I can help. First, pop the hood, and clip the 2 wires going to the siren. That stops that.

Please do this one at a time so
you do not cause a short.

Then the LED in the dash would be the only thing flashing.
You can put black electrical over it till you can repair.

HOWEVER!
Let's see if your valet procedure was
correct.

Please follow this procedure first however so you
are ceratin.

Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking. Then within
5 seconds, locate, press and hold in the
valet/overide button, found under the
dash area, until the installed LED
(the blinking light)
in your dash area goes on solid,
and the siren chirps once.

This should reset the alarm.

At this point, the only thing working would
be the keyless entry from the alarm,
if it came equipped that way.

Just Repeat these steps to place it
back to usable armed mode.
You may get 2 chirps, confirming it,
and the lights may flash twice as well.

That should do it.
If you want to remove it at this point,
take it to your neighborhood installer
for this, or buy the wiring chart
(Go to: www.vehiclewires.com)
for the vehicle, and reverse engineer it wire
by wire, until safely removed.

If it does not work out this way,
you will have to replace the system
with one you know how to operate
and what to expect. Don't want to
get stuck in another bad situation.

Let me know what happens.
