About Justin Wheeler
Expertise
I can answer questions about the electronics and mathematics behind car stereos, provide information on locating wires, wire interference, gauges, etc. Since they're almost entirely subjective, asking questions about brand names may not result in the most useful answers.

Experience
I've been installing car stereos for friends and family (albeit not professionally) for 8 or 9 years. My knowledge lies mostly in the math and technical aspects: impedance, required gauges, fuse levels, size of amps needed, frequency response, etc.

Education/Credentials
Just lots of experience.

Question
Hi Justin,

I recently purchased a Sony cd player for my car in the states and took it back over to Ireland I'm having trouble tuning in the stations it seems to skip over the frequency I need I have heard from asking around that this is a common problem with using radio's from America that they turn in different intervals than radio's from Europe. Is there anything I can buy or change to make it tune the stations in? Thanks!

Answer
Hi John,

A select few decks have a Europe mode you can change them to; check the manual.  Failing that, there isn't anything you can do -- you'll have to either just deal with only some stations working (the ones that you can tune), or replace it.

Justin
