Car Upholstery - rear seat removal

Expert: Mark Savage - 9/21/2003

Question
How do you remove the rear seat on a 1992 Mercury Topaz 4-door ?

Answer
Sorry I am late - computer problems. There are 2 basic ways to remove back seats. Remove bolts below the bottom cushion. If no bolts, It comes out by either pulling up or pushing straight back then pulling up. The back section is usually bolted (sometimes by seatbelt bolts) at the bottom. Unbolt and tilt lower end foreward. Push up and press in on upper middle of the back to clear 3 hooks on upper back. Hope this helps. Mark.
