Answer
Hi. Thanks for your question. College would be excellent preparation for becoming an entrepreneur and starting your own company or getting a management track job in an IT company.

That said, many people have started a business without having a college education. You may want to seriously consider going to college, however. You can major in business and learn all about how to start and run a business. Or, you could major or minor in computer science and learn about creating pc games.

For more information about starting a business in Canada, check out this site and click on “starting a business”:

If you are interested in a management career, then you should consider going to college and getting an undergraduate business degree with an emphasis in management and IT.  After college, you can consider getting an MBA or going right into a management track job.

Here are two links for colleges and universities in Canada that I found via GOOGLE:

In terms of selecting the best college, I would consult Maclean’s magazine, which ranks Canadian universities on an annual basis in a issue called “Maclean’s University Rankings.” You  can probably get a copy at your local library.  Keep in mind that some colleges do not participate in their survey.

You should also give your high school counselors a call and see it you can meet with them to discuss colleges. Let them know that you graduated from their school--they are usually happy to help you or refer you to someone else who can assist you.

Good luck!
