1.) Go to imdb.com and look them up.

2.) Hopefully you are studying with someone that is actually in the business and/or has been. They should be the one you are asking these questions to. If you're not studying then how do you think that you are going to meet and/or audition for these major cd's? Do you have an agent?
Then they should be telling you what types of actors they like.
