QuestionHi, I did a photo shoot for Stella Cheese back in August for coupons and trade
show flyers and now Sargento is considering me for one of their national ads.
These are with two different agents, and I am not sure who to ask about the
conflict.
AnswerHi Cate,
I'm a little confused by the "two different agents" information in your question, since your agent should know and find out for you, on your behalf, if there is any conflicts with the new client (Sargento), to any previous work that you've done.
However, if for some reason you want to avoid using your agent(s) to get this information, then the client (or representative, such as the casting director) is the one that would know about any conflicts for the campaign.
Casting directors always include any conflicts in the casting notice. Obviously, if you never saw the casting notice because your agent submitted you for the job, then it's easy to just ask the casting director or producer "are there any conflicts for this job?"
You don't need to bring up the Stella Cheese when you ask, because you're responsible (after they give you the answer to the question) to do the right thing and exclude yourself if the situation warrants.
But if they say there is no conflicts, there's nothing to worry about and you can just relax and enjoy the splendors of a national campaign.
I wish all this works out for you and that you get to do the Sargento campaign.
Best of luck with this and good luck with all of your future endeavors.
