QuestionQUESTION: My name is Amber, i love to sing and act. The only real problem is that where i live and the school i got to don't do anything that has to do with singing or acting. So how do i join things when there is nothing to join. You know Miley Cyrus right? Well she's the person that i wanna be like any information or advice would be nice,
Thanks Amber
ANSWER: Hi Amber...Thanks for writing.
It's great to hear that you love to sing and act. Is there no community theatre group or choirs in your town? Your town hall or churches would know if there is. It might take some digging but I would imagine that there are groups somewhere near you. You may need to ask various people questions to find out.
If you cannot find anything, then I would encourage you to maybe check out neighboring towns and cities. There should be something you can go to.
In the meantime, sing at home. Purchase or find online a monologue and practice acting at home. Read about singing. Read about performing. Read about acting. Practice some of the things you read. As you get more familiar with singing and acting, you may just find that something will come along for you in the way of opportunity.
Look also in your local phone book and/or google theatre and singing and music in your area. Go to music stores and costume shoppes and ask questions about the talent in the town you are in.
By doing some research, I think you may be surprised by what you find out.
Does that help you?

QUESTION: i did what you told me to and the only thing there is is a gruop a this place where my mom don't allow me at. so how do i get the chance tp perform when the only people i perform in front of are my brothers and myself. How do i get other people to listen to my vocie ? How do i look and find a job that has to do with acting and singing like one on disney chennal like the one miley cyrus has so i can combind the two together.
AnswerHi Amber...Thanks for responding.
Well, if there is no place, then there is no place. Then I would say that it is important that you read about theatre and music. Practise it at home. And focus on being a good student first. Then, when you are able to, you may want to look at other communities and cities in your area when you are older. And begin to audition and develop this part of your life when you are living somewhere else.
I know that it will be hard to wait but by reading and studying theatre and music on your own, you may be surprised at what will happen. Your school may have the opportunities to get you started as well.
