Question
Hello. I am a teenager wanting to pursue a career in stage directing. I am having a lot of trouble finding places that have programs for people my age. Everything I found was for college age students. Do you have any suggestions?

Answer
Hi Rose, Unfortunately, there is very little for teens on stage directing.  If you would like, I will be happy to take you through a list of guided reading on the topic and discuss the books and directing with you.  I have always been appalled at the fact that the vast majority of those directing plays have no idea what they are supposed to be doing and how to go about it.  If you would like to do this, please write to me at kencosp@aol.com, where we can continue our discusssions. We will get you as well prepared as possible, so that you can be successful when you do attend college for training as a director.  Sincerely, Doc
