I am seventeen year old interested in pursuing a career in directing, starting off by going to Columbia College in Chicago, but I'm discouraged by the thought of never being able to find a promising directing career. What are your thoughts on the chance of getting employed?

Already you're discouraged, that's too bad since you haven't even started you career.
I hope that you have already directed something to make sure that is really what you are cut out for.
By the way what is it that you direct stage or film?
Getting employed as a director takes time but that all you have right now.
