Question
O.K., I wanted to know how to get started in the Disney acting proccess. I am 13 -years-old and I want to start now. I am currently taking an acting class here in California (Yuba City). I love acting and that is what I want to do. I am very good at memorizing. Also, I wanted to know the average amount that it costs to have an agent. Could you also, if you are aloud, to tell me or give me any dates and roles that tryouts are.
Thanks a million!
Emily

Answer
Emily,

Thanks for writing. I don't work for Disney anymore, so I don't know when they are holding auditions. Your best bet is to call their casting department and ask how you might obtain an audition. The reality is that without an agent, you probably won't even be seen.

Agents don't cost you any money up front. An agent gets paid when you get paid. He take 10 percent of what ever income you earn from acting.

If you seriously want a career as an actress, you need to move to Los Angeles permanently, enroll in acting classes, get an agent, have professional headshots taken of you and begin submitting your headshot and resume for every audition you can find.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

Phil
