i would like to audition and am wondering what steps ,and qualifications this actor had , or that  someone needs to  audition for  this role , that needs replacement or  other similar  or other roles? does one have to be a member of SAG? how can  i get hooked up for this or other lucrative  acting roles

Hi Jeremy...And thanks for writing.

I'm not sure how this gentleman got hooked up with this movie.  More than likely, he found out through an acquaintance and then he auditioned.  As he is a Jew, I cannot see him seeking out an agent so that he finds more roles.  That is the typical way that actors in film find gigs is through their agents (someone that represents them).  It's either that way or through people that they know in the industry.  

For you, I would suggest that if you are serious about doing this, that you first take some film acting lessons.  Meisner (which can relate to stage and film) is actually a great training that could help you with your technical skill and ability.  

I would also suggest you find an agent that will represent you.  they are usually listed in the phone book.  Once you have an agent who knows who you are and what you are looking for, then you can start to audition for gigs that they hear about and tell you about.  

As for lucrative gigs....With experience you can begin to find them.  Agents will help you with that as well.
