Question
I have many questions relating to both community and residential theaters. One, what is the difference between the two and which one pays the actors for their work?

Answer
One is community theatre (usually non-paying) and non-union and the other is something (while the term residential isn't something that
Im privvy to) different.
You probably mean reagional theatre which is usually much more of a professional type of theatre.

So unless you are EQUITY (the union for theatre actors) then odds are you won't be getting paid for performing.

There are a variety of theatres around the country that do pay some, but depending on where you live it's hard to say which ones do pay.

I would assume that you have performed in the theatre before.

If not then I highly doubt that you will be offered any money.

There are a variety of sites on line that should give you info on theatres in your area and what thier qualifications are and thier auditioning policies.

Good Luck.
