QuestionQUESTION: Hello,
I 1 2 b n actress . Im in orissa. there is no such facilities to fulfil my dream. But im going to Dehli n jaipur n also banaras on 10th june . so is there any chance to fulfil my dream?
ANSWER: Sure, there are possibilities where you are. I think you can ask someone over there for more info. Try one of the websites for that area such as
http://www.angelzmodels.com
I recently saw an email from the owner of that site:
http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1191877491
that they are auditioning for a Hindi movie (although they represent models as well.) But what you could do, is ask them about training in the areas that you plan on visiting, or at least ask them for referrals to other resources in that area.
Since it is a new website, their list of technical resources is either not complete, or still being uploaded - but they will have a list of photographers, makeup artists, acting institutes and more at some point.
In the meantime, you can also look for additional places on the Internet either in your general area, or in Delhi (which has a lot) or the other places you will be traveling to. For acting, the most important is training (at least in the basics such as auditioning skills) and representation by a talent agency.
It may be more difficult because you have to travel for work opportunities, but it is certainly a possibility that you can do. And if nothing else, you can try starting your own acting group where you are, at least to practice your skills as an actress, learn with a group of people who have similar interests, and see what networking opportunities you can create that may possibly expand what's available in your area.
Good luck to you,

AnswerIf the links I gave you can't help, here's another one for you:
http://www.filmmaking.net/directory/filmschools/film_schools_browse.asp?country=
That's a list of filmmaking schools in India. Find the ones closest to you, or in the areas you mentioned you were planning to visit. For most filmmaking schools, the students have to do (student) films or television projects in order to complete or pass the course.
The student or graduate films (and television) projects need actors and actresses of all types and ages. Since they are made by students, usually they look for beginning actors, and you are not usually required to have experience or training in acting.
Contact (or have your parents contact) the schools that are convenient for you to find out if there are open auditions for actors and actresses, a board where you can post your availability as an actress, or some other way to submit yourself on available roles.
Again, you can also start an acting group where you are now. If there isn't a library or bookstore available to you, use the Internet (such as eBay India or Amazon) to locate available books on the type of acting that interests you. There are books written on everything from Hollywood to Bollywood, auditioning, scene study, agency lists, television acting, child acting and much, much more.
Check out the casting agencies in India. If you can get to any of the areas where they are located, and you fit what they are looking for, submit your information to them for professional jobs. You can use the Internet to search, one of the resources I found useful is:
http://www.jurgita.com/casting/indian-casting
There are nineteen listings there, so that may also get you started in the right direction. These days most entertainment industry companies tend to have a website, and it usually has details for submitting your information to them as new talent.
Each audition itself whether for a talent/casting agency or for a producer or director may be different. Generally speaking, they are looking to see if you fit the part (if you're auditioning for a specific role) how you come across (on camera) and if you can act and follow directions or suggestions.
Classes and training are available to help you improve your acting skill, or you can use acting books, or even start your own acting group where you practice your craft. There are, of course, also actors who do not or have not taken any type of training, and still go on to successful careers. But I suggest taking advantage of any of the resources there that you can, or creating the opportunities for yourself in your local area until you can travel to a larger market.
Good luck to you,
