Question
Hi,I've always been interested in being in musicals, I had a choice to go to one recently, but did not go because I felt that since I had no experience, then that would make my chance a zero percent in getting cast in a role, let alone me being asian, being cast in a caucasion role. So instead, I'm thinking of going to theatre camp. What I'm trying to say is, do you think for an almost 15 year old girl, that it's too late to start learning about musical theatre arts now? Because most people start at a young age. Acting had always been an interest to me, and I believe I can sing pretty well. I'm currently taking vocal lessons.

Thank you!!

Answer
Hi Loan, YOu should have auditioned, race means nothing in acting. If you sing pretty well, you might have made the chorus or something.
It is gettting late in the year to make camp plans, but give it a try. You are not too old to start if you have the gift.  Find out by trying out for every possible play.  Remember, if you don't make it, it is not because you are Asian, it is because you are not good enough. Go get it, Doc,
