Question
Hi Phil,I've searched and searched on this site and couldn't find anyone who could answer my specific question but when I saw your credentials and saw some of your answers, you sounded real experienced and very nice.  I am looking to get a job as a personal assistant to a star in the Los Angeles area.  My children are grown, I am an "older woman" but am in fantastic health, no meds, no baggage, just ready to dote on someone.   I am an organizer and love taking care of people.  I would not be a threat to anyone's husband as they are all much younger than I, I am well grounded, of the highest integrity and trustworthiness.  Is there some sort of employment agency in the LA area that specializes in placing people in this type of work?  I've worked with the same company for 30 years and this is something I've always wanted to do and now is the time to do it if it's possible. Hope you can direct me, thanks!

Answer
Cindy,

Thanks for writing. I'm not sure I'm going to be much help, however. I don't know of any websites, organizations, or job listings for celebrity personal assistants. The reality is that if you're not living in LA you won't hear of any opportunities. Most of these kinds of positions you hear of through friends, colleagues, etc. and are obtained by referrals.

I did find one website that has a book about becoming a personal assistant. You might look into that (http://www.FabJob.com/celebrity.asp?affiliate=295%20).

Hope this helps. Good luck!
