Question
Hi, Kenneth.

I've been reading up on the things to do to get your Equity Card and I just recently contacted some Equity theatres in my local area to get information about the Equity Membership Candidate Program and if they still take part in it. But my question to you is, is that the only way to get my Equity card? I've heard about other ways (non-equity open calls, etc.) but I wanted some more enlightenment on the subject.

Answer
Hi, The best source of info on how to get an equity card would be equity.  Contact them.  Try their website.  I think the best way is to get an equity contract or to be eligible by being a member of another union.  So your non equity open call is a way of getting an equity contract and a valid way.  Like a SAG card, it is not the only way to get a professional job if you are in a right to work state. Best wishes, Doc.
