Question
Hello, Im 17 years old ad have ben singin for majority of my life. My entire family sings, fathers a muscian and owns a recording studio in Florida. I love the disney channel for its innocence and musical talent such as the Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus. I would love to either sing backup for either performer or become an artist for Disney. I've been in many community musicals and plays as well as the Chocolate Nutcracker where I was a lead singer and danced as well. What does it take to audition for Disney and how do I start the process.

Answer
India,

Thanks for writing. If you wish to audition for Disney for a project they are producing, first you need to know if they are holding auditions. Second, you need to know if they are auditioning singers. You can find out the answers to both of these questions by contacting the casting department of The Disney Channel and asking about their audition procedures.

In order for them to take you seriously, you need to have acting & musical training, talent, an agent, a headshot, a resume, and most importantly, you need to be living in Los Angeles - not permanently, but at least for a very long stretch (say 6 months to a year) so that your agent can send you out on auditions as he hears about them.

That's how it's done. Hope this helps.

Good luck!

Phil
