Question
QUESTION: Hi, my name is Lucas and I'm from Brazil. I'm coursing filmmaking here at a college and I'm interested in directing actors for my own movies. I'm planning on going to New York the next January for 1 month course, but I can't find any course that goes deeply in that question, on directing actors, mainly Meisner technique, if it's possible.  Do you know any school that offers that?

ANSWER: Hi Lucas, Well, no. Not in a month. If you want Meisner  technique, read books about it, there have been many. Best wishes, Doc

QUESTION: But, in during a month, do you think I can find a course with a focus on directing actors? Even though it's not Meisner.

Thank you for your answer.

Answer
Hello again. No, I do not think so.  A film directing or stage directing class in working with the actor is rather a rare thing and is mostly offered as part of a total film making or directing curriculum. Have you searched the web for Directing Actors for Film or Working With The Actor, also search Amazon.com for books on the topics. Best wishes, Doc
