Question
I can't really find any better fitting category, so I hope you can answer my question, or at least point me in the right way. I have been producing and editing videos since I was in 6th grade. I love it with much passion. As a senior in high school, I need to figure out what I will do with myself. I want to go to a school like the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, but I can't find any information from former students, if it was really worth it, and what it was like. I want to go to a school that doesn't have all those extra classes like science, history 101, and all that other junk, I have trouble enough in high school with it. In your experience, are there any places I should specifically look into? Or stay away from?

Thanks so much!

Answer
Tommy,

Thanks for writing. If you're looking for a career as a film and digital video editor, then you should consider enrolling in a university or college that has a strong film and video program. Schools like USC, NYU, Columbia, Chapman, Boston U, and the University of Texas at Austin all have very good programs.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

Phil
