Questionhi! my name is Cameron, i am 12 years old and would like to start a career in acting/modeling.I haveexperence only from plays, drama class and my normal day life. I say that i get practice from my normal day life because i have a very goofy i guess personality, i love people, and i love life, so ask any one that knows me, i act every day. I am not ashamed to be myself and i hardly ever get nerves when talking to any one. Im not trying to brag or anything, but most people say i am very pretty (long blonde hair, icy blue eyes. ect ect. haha)I also love performing and is pretty good at it, i do take middle school drama and im thinking about taking othter acting classes. my family is very artistit and i am also (mom (former artist),grandma, and older sister are artist and my older sister is a former actress) so i would greatly appreciate your help. So basicly my question is How can i find auditions in my area? and anything else you think would help would be great! THANKS SO MUCH! ~cameron =]~
AnswerHi Cameron, Well yours is a common question and there is no one right answer. I cannot help wondering if your sister is a former actress why you cant get this info from her? Anyway, there is hardly any work for children and teens in spite of what you see on tv. In order to do anything pro, you need your parents to sign for you. Goofing around in everyday life is not acting. So what I always recommend to those who ask your question is: get a lot of experience in school, church and comminity theatre, take professional acting classes, get your parents to be actively involved in building a career for you. That is how to get stated. Stay away from websites, they are mostly all scams. IF you are in plays and acting classes you will learn about auditions.Best wishes, Doc
