Question
Hi Mr. Plonkey,

Thanks so much for taking the time to answer my question! I am a 16 year old actor who is interested in Theatre direction as my major in college. I was wondering if you knew of any schools that offer solid programs in majoring or getting an undergad in theatre direction?

Answer
Hi TJ There is no undergrad theatre direction major that I am awared of.  I suggest you get a solid general theatre major.  I believe a theatre director needs to know every aspect of theatre and be able to do it. The most noted MFA directing program is probably Yale Drama School.  Do very well as an undergrad and then try that. If you have any questiona about directing plays please contact me. I directed plays for 45 years and would be delighted to discuss it with you. Best wishes, Doc
