Question
Hi Wanda
I am working on my BA in Technical and Design theatre with an emphasis on Direction. I will be graduating in 2 years and I don't think it's too early to start planning for a career. Can you give me some advice on how to start a career as a stage director after graduation? What is the best way to find a job? Thanks.

Katie

Answer
Hi there, Katie.  And thanks for writing...

You are being wise thinking about laying a foundation for the future and that is a good sign.  So congrats on that.

The first thing to do is to look around you and ask yourself who it is around you that you can build relationship with and opportunity.

The next thing to do is develop a plan around those people.  What do you want to accomplish and what is your vision for your work?

And then put the plan into action.

I do help to create plans if you are interested in that.

Does that help?
