Question
Hi!
My name is Nathalie and I am extremely interested in pursuing some type of musical activity in my life. I am particularly leaning towards musical theatre because I love to perform and I love to sing. However, I have only been in the female barbershop at school for a year and most of my school career has been focused on playing my instrument, the french horn. Nevertheless, I acted in various spanish summer plays and it feels so good to be performing, on stage and with my band at school. I was just wondering if 16, on the verge of 17, is too late to begin with musical theatre? I have an excellent memory and am really dedicated to making this work but am just curious as to how far I can get in life if I'm starting just now.

Thanks!

Answer
Hi there, Nathalie...And thanks for writing.

You are not late at all to start with musical theatre.  You have your whole life ahead of you.  And as for how far you get, well, that is really up to you.  If you look for opportunity and continue to work on it and develop your skill through workshops and classes and experience, and you network with people that know people, who knows where you will go.

Remember though...it's not about the destination.  It's more about the journey and what you do with every day and every moment.

Does that help you?
