Question
I currently have a grandson at San Jose State in the animation field. He is   trying to get an internship for the summer.
His work can be viewed by googling Jake Panian.
Any suggestion for him would be very appreciated.

thank you from Lower Burrell, PA
Good Luck with your pursuits.

Answer
Bud,

Thanks for writing. Most companies will NOT take an intern unless the student receives college credit for the work he does with the company. Otherwise, if a company was to take an un-paid intern, they would be violating federal and state labor laws. So make sure he arranges to receive college credit.

Nickelodeon is an animation company that often takes intern. He might look into them. They are based in Burbank, CA.

Hope this helps.

Phil
