Question
QUESTION: this is kinda the same as my other question but still.

hi my name is Derrick torres, i am 15 years old, january 6, 1994, and its ALWAYSE been my dream to become an actor, mostly on disney though, and i have some questions.. 1.)I live in San angelo, Texas and if i were to get a agent in Dallas, am i still able to get on Disney? 2.)how much per month will it cost my parents for my dream job? like for gas, hotel (la quinta), all that. 3.)i do not have enough money for sessions in acting camps, so the only experience and training i will have is from school, is that ok for my resume? pleaseeee help me and answer my questions, also leave me some tips ok, thank you sencerly: Derrick Torres

ANSWER: Derrick,

Here are your answer:

1) It doesn't matter where you live, the only way you'll get a part on a Disney Channel production is if you audition and the director and producer think you're right for the project.

2) If you are cast in a production, the production will fly you and your parents to the city in which the production is filming. They will also provide you and your parents with a hotel room and give you money for meals.

3) Yes.

Good luck!

QUESTION: THANK YOU!!!!!
but i mean like at first, would you say its better and cheaper to get an agent in Dallas, than getting a agent in California? and do agent in Dallas try to get you auditions on Disney, how??
also please give me as much tips as you can give me. thank you
sincerely, Derrick Torres

Answer
Derrick,

First, an agent in Dallas is only valuable to you if he has relationships with casting directors in Los Angeles. If he doesn't, then he's a waste of time.

Second, ALL agents get paid the same amount regardless of what city they're based. Agents by law may only take 10% of your income earned from acting. They DO NOT get paid up front. Nor do you have to give them any money for the privilege of representing you. They get paid when you get paid. If you earn $100 from acting, after you get paid the $100, you give your agent 10%, or $10.

Third, agents don't get you auditions for Disney. You don't audition for Disney, you audition for a film or TV show. Some of these shows are produced by Disney, some aren't.

Hope this explains it a bit better for you.
