Question

Me
I am 23.I graduated from the University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory
of Music in Music Education with a focus in voice. I have always loved singing,
dancing and acting. I have been teaching for a year now, and I have realized
that although I love my students, I am not as happy as I was when I was
performing. I would love your advice on the steps that I should take to really
get into acting. Should I take classes, get an agent, move somewhere? I am
auditioning for small theater stuff in Cincinnati as of right now. I would really
appreciate your advice!!!

Answer
Hi Jessica, Step one would be to build a resume of roles and classes by being in shows and taking more professional training. If you already have a pretty good resume, the next step would be to move to a bigger pond and work on getting an agent as well as networking which mean doing more shows and taking more classes.  If you contact me at kencosp@aol.com, I will send you my ebook on preparing for a career. Then we can discuss the details. Best wishes and God bless, Doc
