Careers: Acting, Performing, Directing/Ambitious

Question
I'm Georgina, I am 12 and I live in Australia.
I want to act and I'm very ambitious. I am already in an acting agency and so
far I only had one audition (just a photo) and I didn't get through. I am
hoping I will get more casting calls in the near future.
I am looking for training and I have found a few workshops that are not
incredibly expensive.

If I do follow my dream until I am at least 18 or older and move to America,
would it be harder for me to pass auditions as I have the Australian Accent?

Should I learn the American accent? (Though I do really love my accent I have
now.)

Please and thank you.

Answer
Hi Georgina,  Well you cannot just move to the US and start acting professionally. To do that you need to be a citizen or have a green card, or be hired as an imported star. Americans have a love affair with the Aussie dialect, so don't worry about that. Wouldn't hurt to be able to do various American dialects, though. No rush, however. You aim should be to become a known actress in your own country.  God bless, Doc
