Question
hi im abby and im 13. i really love to act and ive been told by numerous
people that i would be a great actress. ive always loved to perform in front of
a crowd and to entertain. i have a little experience and plan on doing 4
different local plays in the next year. i also plan on taking some acting and
voice lessons. ive talked to my parents about agents and headshots and
resumes and all that good stuff. they told me that they would think about it
after ive had a bit more experience. do you have any advice for me?? id really
appreciate it. thank you. (:

Answer
Hi Abby, My first advice to you is to not get in a hurry to become an actress. It takes years and years to become an actress and there are no shortcuts.  Stay away from websites about casting, auditions, and getting you in the movies. These are scams to steal your money. Do not put too much belief in what people tell you about your talent. Continue to work hard on doing the best you can in every role and be in as many plays as you can.  Finally, if your parents are not working hard to make you a career in acting, you are not going to have one, at least not as a teen.  Write back in three years if you are still interested in a career in acting. God bless, Doc
