Question QUESTION: Dear Wanda,
I am a 12 year old female who just LOVES TO SING ALL THE TIME! During Music class, I would volunteer to sing infront of the class. I have been in choir and a canter for school masses. I'm just wondering how to start my acting and singing career. :D
Thank you,
Adrienne
ANSWER: Hi there, Adrienne...
It's really neat that you love to sing AND that you are finding ways to be involved in singing opportunities - choir, canter, singing in front of your class. You are doing very well :). Keep doing that, ok? The more you do this kind of thing, the better you will become.
I think it would be helpful for you to look into voice lessons to develop your voice. Talk with your parents about this. If you are truly interested in doing this well, this will help you move in that direction. It will refine your voice and give you tips on how to sing with power. Ask your choir director for some help on where to find a coach or teacher for voice in your area.
Also, do some reading on singing for a career. Start learning about it so that you are sure that you want to do this. It may look like what you want to do right now. This will help to enlighten you and to raise your awareness about what this means.
Lastly, would there be any way that you can find places to sing? Church? Old folks homes? Community choirs? Musical theatres?
Just be willing to sing and do it as often as you can. And it will begin for you.
Does that help you?
Wanda
Be sure to talk with your parents about each step before you do any of this, ok? You will need the support.

QUESTION: Thanks Wanda,
Sorry I haven't answered in a while.
Well I do sing at church and at places when I can sing whenever I want to.I'm not sure where to go to for community choirs, musical theatres, and old folks homes. I live in the Bay Area, so if there's good places for me to sing, it would be nice for you to tell me.
I had a talk with my parents about voice lessons, and they said they will think about it. It would really help if you can tell me a few good ones out here.
I do have another thing to ask...Can you tell me some acting agencies that isn't a scam.
Thank you!
Adrienne
Answer Hi there Adrienne...Thanks for writing back.
I don't live in the Bay area so I am not able to give you any information. Even if I did, it would be better for you to do your own research. I could probably get you started. However, it is important for you to learn about looking for information that you would like to obtain. That is how you become a good artist - by not letting anything be an excuse.
So I would suggest that you look up community associations or the like in your phone book or online for your area and ask about choirs. Look also in those same places for theatres that do musicals as well as old folks homes. The information is there. You just have to look for it.
I'm glad that you were able to talk with your parents. Keep singing where you can and be a part of school choirs and such too. That w
ill help. I hope your voice lessons happen for you as that is a really excellent way to focus on your voice.
Regarding acting agencies...Again, look them up in the phone book and call them asking for
