Question
Hi Kenneth,
I was wondering if you had any information regarding how well received Boston University's BFA Acting program is within the professional world. I've attempted to research this but I've had varied results. Is Boston University a top program in the Unites States?
I appreciate your time,
Molly

Answer
Hello Molly,  Well, no, I haven't any specific info abut BU's MFA Acting and I have not looked at their curriculum.  To be honest with you, the professional world really doesn't give a hoot about academic degrees or where you studied acting, other than in pockets of East Coast snobbery that unfortunately do exist in some NYC theatre groups and elsewhere.  No acting school, conservatory or academic can guarantee that you well ever get a job in the professional world. Those that have alumni who have had professional work are ballyhooed as proof of the quality of the school's program, but it is all PR and advertising.  My belief is that such people would have made it no matter where they went to school. Go to my web site, kenplonkeyacting.com and read my free book, The Tao of Acting and my blog, and then contact me with any questions that you have.  God bless, Doc
