Question
I'm trying to score some acting auditions, and they say the headshot is about 90% of what their callbacks are based on. Personality is a huge factor in headshots, (obviously, since it is an acting audition) but I'm wondering if they'd also maybe want a serious shot. My question is, is it a sin to send more than one headshot?

Answer
HI Diego, I suppose that you mean that you intend to send your head shot and resume to several auditions that have been annouced somewhere. First let me tell you that 'they' are probably the most unreliable source of information there is.  You need to get  your information from an expert on head shots such as Brian O'Neil in Acting As A Business or from wwww.kenplonkeyacting.com where there is an article on Resumes, cover letters and headshots. A posed head shot is not what is wanted, what is wanted is a straight on looking at the camera shot that looks like you and yet shows your sparkle. Second, it is rare that anyone scores an audition from such submissions. Why? because most roles are filled by casting directors via talent agents.  So if you are serious about acting you should be working on getting an agent. I explain how to go about that at my website also.  Finally, yes it is a sin to send more that three sheets in your submission package: 1. cover letter, 2. head shot or comp card, 3. resume.
Best wishes and God bless, Doc
