Question
Can you give any advise on how to make the weaker voice (usually women)heard without shouting in a theatre hall with poor acoustics and no microphones. It is so much easier for men with stronger voices!

Answer
HI Jo, sorry if there has been a delay in answering, I did not receive notice of your question until this morning. I think I answered this question on Yahoo Answers, however, where I noted that speaking with a lot of diaphragm support for the voice and articulating clearly should help you project.  Also, there is a section in Miriam Franklin's book "Rehearsal" that deals with projecting you voice. See if you can find a copy.  It is a treasure trove of information about stage acting.  God bless, Doc
