Question
hi..
i am 21 years old i live in oxnard, california. and i have always wanted to get into acting.. i started taking a class in Ventura college back in 2007. i loved the class it was awesome! but i didn't finish the course, we didn't do much of stage performances. i feel like i don't have much experience but i also feel that's the career i really want to do! my question is what should be my first step being that i really haven't taken a professional class and learned much or had the feeling of being on stage. i am a little shy but with work & time i know it will go away..? how should i get started?

thanks soooo much for your time..
God bless you!

Answer
Hello Sara, Oxnard is a beautiful place. Well, I think that in your case, you need to do some amateur theater. So look for a community theatre near you that you can audition for. You will have to call them of course and find out what their next audition is and what you have to do to take part. Experience is always first with me. Once you have done some plays, you will know if you are ready to move on. Do let me know what you find and how you are doing. God bless, Doc
