QuestionQUESTION: i am an international student from cameroon and i wanna to go to a good acting school in l.a or newyork. i dont want anything too long( 2 years at most.) or for which admission is subject to auditioning in the u.s. i prefer a school that requires no audition at all or a video audition at most. i just did an LLB and will prefer a masters program. what is your advice to me please?
ANSWER: Hello Sandra, I need a little more information. Are you saying you only want academic schools where you can get an MA? In what subject do you want your degree? Are you aware that you cannot act professionally in the US unless you are a citizen, have a green card or are a imported star? What are your career goals? I look forward to your reply so I can suggest some schools. God bless, Doc

QUESTION: yeah im aware of all that but thats not the issue. the issue is that i want to go to acting school in l.a or nyc. it musnt be for an M.A it could also be a B.A. however, i will prefer a M.A
AnswerThe professional acting degree is the BFA. Since you did not answer my question about your career goals, I am assuming they are to be an actor. Masters Degrees in Acting are generally teaching degrees. In NY I recommend SUNY Purchase, in CA I recommend University of California, Irvine. These schools are very difficult to get into, as you would expect from good acting schools, and you will have to write to them to see if they will accept a video audition for their program. I wish you all good success, God bless, Doc
