QuestionHi, my name is Hannah,
I was wondering if you could answer a question of mine? I was wondering how to get an acting job on Nova Scotia,Canada when i am a thirteen year old girl. I really want to get into acting and if i do i want to get right into it and get in front of the camera aha. But really all i really want to do is acting or modeling and be in commercials and i guess all i am asking for is if you could tell me how i could do that. Oh, i just have one more question i would kind of need an agent and i find it hard to get in Nova Scotia,Canada
Thank you
-Hannah Walker :)
AnswerHi there, Hannah...And thanks for writing.
It's fantastic that you want to get into acting and that you know that now. There a few things that you can do at home and near where you live to begin:
*Read about acting or modeling, being in commercials, etc. Read anything that is about what you want to do. Pick up books from the library.
*Begin to look into film in the Nova Scotia area - google it. See if you can find anything near you or in a city near you.
*Also google film / modeling / acting workshops in Nova Scotia. You will want to begin to take acting classes or model classes in your community, in a city near you AND in your school.
*Getting an agent right now when you don't have any experience is not possible. You need to get experience. Model at school. Act at school in film and/or theatre. Take acting or modeling classes at school. Begin to build the skills now.
*Once you have some experience (at least 5 things that you have done in school including courses), then branch out and audition for some film and theatre in your area to get more experience.
It's essential that you build your knowledge and skill where you are first before branching out.
Does that help you?
