Question
Mr. Nemy,

I have a passion for acting and I know I'd do anything it takes to become an actress. I'm 14 and I feel I should already have been auditioning for low-key rolls or SOMETHING. The problem is, I literally live in the middle of nowhere, which leaves me with no opportunities and little options. I do everything I can to be involved musically and theatrically in school. I play flute, guitar and sing in choir. Recently, I auditioned for and performed the part as 'The Sour Kangaroo' in the musical 'Suessical'. It was a big success. It was also a great experience and even more reassurance of my love for acting and theater.
Where do I start? What do I do? Advice? Thank you.

Answer
Morgan,

Tnanks for writing. Unfortunately, at 14 and living in the middle of nowhere, there's not much you CAN do. If you were 18, you could move out to a bigger city that has theater opportunities and pursue your career. The best you can do now is keep auditioning for anything that you can get to and wait until you're 18. Then, enroll in a college that has an excellent actor's training program (a BFA degree) and develop your talent and skills. Then, when the time is right, move to NYC and pursue your dream of starring in the theater!

Good luck!
