QuestionCan one be successful in acting without any 'paper qualifications' in acting/theatre, and where are good places to search for auditions or to get into the profession?
AnswerHello Mary, Actually one does need the paper qualifications in acting, including a strong CV, head shot, business card, personalized post cards and stationary, show reel, etc. One does not been to be a graduate or a certificate from any particular school or academy. That being said, until you have these things, especially a strong CV of acting in plays and professional training (a couple of courses and workshops, carefully selected, there is no point in seeking professional auditions. It is quite easy to get known in the acting world through amateur theatre, extra work and so on that you want to do to build your CD. One other point: you do need a source of income to finance your journey into professional acting and you need to be 18 or older. In such case, contact me at kencosp@aol.com and identify yourself and we can get you started properly in becoming an actress. It is a process that could take a couple of years depending on your previous acting experience in school, etc. God bless, Doc
