Careers: Acting, Performing, Directing/Becoming an actor

Question
I'm 12 and I would like to become an actress. I took singing, I take acting classes and I know how to dance a little bit. I’m in a very good physical condition from race-swimming, and, well, it might sound selfish, but my grades are very high too. I’m moving to San Diego. My question would be: How can I become an actress? I would prefer as specific answers as possible :)

Answer
Hello Fanni: Well, the short answer to your question is that your parents have to make it happen for you by promoting you to producers, directors and agents, by finding you performance and training, etc.  You cannot sign a contract until you are 18 and a parent has to accompany you to all auditions and work until you are an adult.  Also if you do not have US citizenship, you will need to have a green card or 01 visa to act professionally here.  There is no one way that a person becomes an actress, so all paths have to be considered and used and therefore there is no more specific way that I can tell you in a short email.  I suggest you read my book and my blog(in its entirety) both accessible via http://tao-of-acting.org.  God bless, Doc
