ANSWER: Look at imdb for film details.
Playing a president or Prime Minister is no more difficult than any other written character. Whether the audience believes in your characterisation depends on how well the writer and director have done their work. You can't think every minute is this the way <the man> would have said it or moved? All you can do is to play the character as he appears in the writing, and let the audience judge the finished work.

Answer
Such research might make you feel more secure, but if the writer and director have written a different character, then they are right, and you wil be sensible to keep your mouth shut.

Shakespeare's Richard was in fact an expert swordsman (hence one shoulder larger than the other), and an effective and well-loved monarch. However, the reigning line was the Tudors, and the public audience supported their view that Richard was a murdering freak.

The director might decide to present the historically true Richard, but it's not your choice to make in a mainstream production.
