Careers: Acting, Performing, Directing/Charlie Chaplin Or Laurel & Hardy.

Dear Kitty

Which among the two would you nominate as number one favourite criteria for comedy movies?.

For me personally, I would go with Laurel & Hardy.  Charlie Chaplin held very tight control over the development of many of his films; writing, directing, acting, editing and even composing the music himself.  Also his films tended to have more political commentary. Laurel and Hardy had more 'pure' comedy; fun and funny just for the entertainment.  I also like the examples of literary 'play on words' from Laurel and Hardy (courtesy of Wikipedia)
"You can lead a horse to water but a pencil must be led." (Laurel, Brats)
"I was dreaming I was awake but I woke up and found meself asleep." (Laurel, Oliver the Eighth)
"A lot of weather we've been having lately." (Hardy, Way Out West)

Since I write myself, I appreciate that sort of humor more and therefore would nominate Laurel and Hardy over the great Charlie Chaplin.

Thank you for your question,

I can answer questions from those looking to get into the fashion or commercial modeling industry. Specifically, the requirements, what is needed, how to find an agent, what they look for, how to avoid scams, the difference between what a commercial model does, and a fashion model, would travel/relocation be required, what is on a comp card and in your portfolio.

Both my acting and modeling resume/portfolio is available online on my website. I am a member of the Screen Actors Guild, and also have available my actor's demo reel and voice-over demo online. I founded both the and websites, which provide free modeling and acting info to the public. I have moved into directing, producing and screenwriting - and have won awards for my writing. I have worked in the industry as both a model and actress in Florida, New York City and Los Angeles until October 2007. I now reside in Europe.
